Yesterday's football match results (2nd November): Premier League Gameweek 7 1

The last two matches in the 7th Premier League gameweek saw Fulham and Leicester City put in impressive performances and secure all three points. Alley Sport reviews yesterday’s football match results.

Fulham humble West Bromwich Albion

Fulham came out on top in the battle of the newly promoted sides as they beat West Brom 2-0 at Craven Cottage on Monday.

Striker Bobby Reid and right-back Ola Aina scored within a span of 4 minutes to put the hosts 2-0 up with 30 minutes on the clock. Both goals were set up by Fulham’s Serbian target-man Aleksandar Mitrovic who put in a man of the match display.

This is Fulham’s first win of the season after 7 matches, and takes them out of the bottom 3 for the first time. West Brom on the other hand, remain rooted into the relegation zone, still winless. Their woes are likely to increase as they face Spurs and Manchester United in their next two league games.

Yesterday’s football match results saw Leicester trump Bielsa’s Leeds

Leicester City put in a magnificent display to see off Marcelo Bielsa’s well drilled Leeds side on Monday. The scoring started in just the 2nd minute of the match as Harvey Barnes put the visitors ahead, before Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans doubled their lead shortly after. A goal for Leeds just after half time gave the hosts some hope until Jamie Vardy and Tielemans hit the net in the last 15 minutes to end the game 4-1 on the night.

The result rockets Leicester up to 2nd spot in the league table, just one point behind leaders Liverpool. Leeds meanwhile find themselves in 12th, proving that an attractive brand of football will win you praise but becomes redundant if it doesn’t get tangible results.

Leicester face Braga midweek in UEL and Wolves on the weekend before facing Liverpool in a titanic clash in gameweek 9. For Leeds, the road gets tougher. After facing Crystal Palace, they have back-to-back encounters against Arsenal, Everton, and Chelsea.

These were all the yesterday’s football match results that managed to get the limelight.
