Yesterday night’s football results: Belgium vs Wales
To start it off, let’s get into the Belgium vs Wales fixture that seemed to have a lot of world-class talent on show. The game had all the workings of a top-tier fixture and it definitely lived up to its hype. Belgium, as expected managed to come away with the result. They beat the Welsh by 3 goals to 1 in what was an end-to-end bout between the two. But the quality in the final third was clearly contributed by brilliant goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Thorgan Hazard and then followed by a penalty that was unmissable since it was taken by an in-form Romelu Lukaku. All of this is just a jist of the elite level of performances that were produced last night.
Wales weren’t too shabby themselves for most part of the game. They created a lot of chances and put up a fight till the end of the game. But they couldn’t matchup to the quality in terms of putting chances away, mixed with individual brilliance. Speaking of which, the only goal they scored was oozing class as it was an assist from Gareth Bale, followed by a top draw finish from a young Harry Wilson.
Yesterday night’s football results: Turkey vs Netherlands
The other notable fixture that was a highlight of yesterday night’s World Cup Qualifiers was the game between Turkey and Netherlands. Again, this was a matchup that had a lot of pristine talent and performers of the highest level on show. Both teams were looking to showcase just what they’re capable of, and what they have in store for the rest of this competition.
A surprisingly dominant result, but it’s not something that was unexpected given Turkey’s first team, and the players it comprises. They managed to come away with the results with a 4-2 final score. Goals from Burak Yilmaz, whose hattrick showed a glimpse of the elite talent he’s providing this time around, along with some more quality from a young veteran, Hakan Calhanoglu.
Frank de Boer and his men were forced to fight their way into this game, which was futile in the end. But they fought nonetheless and weren’t going to give up that easily. Class from Davy Klassen and Luke de Jong made sure they didn’t just contribute a defense against a relentless Turkish side. Chances were being created, although they lacked the deadly finish that Turkey was not short of all through the game.
