WINTER TRANSFER WINDOW: Top five ‘Rumours’

Winter window has opened and the speculations of transfer rumours have already heated up. There are players who can make their moves. Bigger clubs are looking at options to replace some players. Some clubs struggled throughout the season and are in desperate need for alternatives.

We take a look at the 5 most anticipated winter window transfer rumours:

5. Ashley Young to Inter Milan

Manchester United offered the veteran fullback 1 year contract extension. However, the experienced campaigner refused immediately and now is reportedly interested in joining Conte’s Inter Milan. Lack of play time being considered to be the biggest reason for young choosing the Italian side.

4. Gedson Fernandes to West Ham United

The 21 year old Midfielder from Benfica has reportedly agreed terms with the Hammers for 18 month loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Although Chelsea are also keen to land the midfielder but Benfica believe the player can still show his worth at the club after a fallout with the current manager Bruno Lage.

3. Mattia Caldara to Atlanta

The AC Milan defender’s short year and a half stay at the Milan side didn’t turn up well. This is not only because of his performances but also because being heavily injured during his stay at the side.

Just to let you know Caldara is the same player whom Juventus traded to get Bonucci back to Turin.

And now Caldara is nearing a move to Atlanta reports Sky Italy.

2. Van der Beek to Manchester United

According to the ESPN, The Ajax’ midfielder has came out as an option to Solskjaer’s midfield crisis after main men Pogba and Mctominay being sidelined. The team is struggling to find the right balance and create absolutely nothing at the pitch.

Van der Beek has come as a surprise name as Ole thinks that this is man easier to lure at the winter window. Leicester City’s James Maddison who right now is enjoying a dream spell under his current club. Van Der Beek is seen as an alternate option. Leicester City are looking good to qualify for the champion’s league next season.

1. Thomas Lemar to Chelsea

The Frenchman’s stay at Atletico hasn’t been impressive at all. Atletico Madrid are ready to offer the player to the blues as a part of a 12 month loan deal. The deal maybe followed by a permanent transfer upto £50m although Chelsea can face fierce competition from rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Although with Pedro out of favour for Frank Lampard and also an uncertainity over Willian’s future Lemar can easily fit in the side for the blues. [Evening standard]
