Chelsea’s charge for the Premier League title begins today with a London derby against the Eagles, as Chelsea announce the signing of Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku in a £97.5 million move, being Chelsea’s record transfer. The Belgian star has a vast amount of Premier League experience, playing for West Brom initially, moving to Chelsea in 2012. His first stint with the club was not memorable, moving to Everton, where his goal scoring exploits earned his move to Manchester United, then eventually returning back to Chelsea after moving from Milan this week.
Will Lukaku play today?: Chelsea’s squad for Crystal Palace
Romelu Lukaku joins a team full of young stars, as he joins the Thomas Tuchel team, alongside Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham. The arrival of Lukaku has put Abraham’s future at Chelsea into question, as he ponders over his options, with Atalanta, Arsenal and AS Roma interested in signing him. Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Lukaku will NOT be making a debut against Crystal Palace, with Arsenal deemed as the first match on the return of the Belgian striker.

Chelsea look to challenge for the domestic title, after lifting the UEFA Champions League title last season. The Blues made a statement signing with bringing Romelu Lukaku to their squad, with the Inter Milan attacker being in his prime form in Italy. Inter lifted the Serie A title, breaking the Juventus dominance, with Lukaku being the player of the season for the Milan side, as he rejoins the Premier League to prove to his critics that he can lead a Premier League side to glory.
