The Belgian has been injured since the Champions League game against Malmo, with Alley Sport assessing “Will Lukaku play this weekend?” and chances of his return to action.
Romelu Lukaku arrived in the Premier League with much fan fare around this high profile signing, as the former Inter Milan forward impressed his critics with a majestic stint in Italy. Romelu Lukaku scored on his second Chelsea debut against Arsenal, but has fallen flat since the beginning with more hopes on the Belgian to bring the much needed attacking prowess for the reigning European champions, as well as the current league leaders of the Premier League.

Chelsea were optimistic about the return of their Belgian star post the international break, with a potential target return set on the game against Leicester City. Lukaku was spotted in Chelsea training this week, but does not look likely to be fit for the game against Leicester, as Tuchel does not want to risk his star striker for the game against Manchester United next week. Chelsea fans would be gutted to see Lukaku miss 6 games for Chelsea in all competitions, but hope he returns ahead of the crunch clash next week.

Chelsea Latest Team News ahead of the Leicester City clash
Tuchel has a number of injury issues to take care of. Mason Mount had a tooth infection in the past week but is on the recovery curve. It is likely he returns for this game but unlikely that he starts. Marcos Alonso and Romelu Lukaku are both suffering from injury issues, while Mateo Kovacic and Timo Werner are recovering from hamstring issues of their own.
