A player who has failed to regain the form he displayed before sustaining a serious knee injury in November 2020 is being considered for release by some club members.
Though it would be a risky transfer, should Ansu succeed at his new club, Barça officials would be subject to harsh criticism from the Blaugrana faithful. Ansu could spend a season at another Champions League team to regain his best form, and it is quite likely that Barcelona will choose a loan arrangement.
After that, the young player may go back to Camp Nou and compete a second time for the sort of first-team position that he isn’t getting this year. But for the time being, the only definite thing is that Barça will need to put out yet another fire.
