Who Will Be Messi’s Successor In Football? Preview

Lionel Messi, perhaps one of the most talented players of our day, has revolutionised contemporary sport. He is undoubtedly the finest player in the world thanks to his expert dribbles, flawless passes, and incredible ball control. His modest demeanour adds to the charm of this shy Argentine, who has captured the hearts of people around the world and will likely do so in the future.

As well as being a hugely famous youth hero, the Argentine magician has inspired many kids worldwide to make playing football their life ambition. Estevao Willian, the Wonderkid of Palmeiras, is our prediction to be Lionel Messi’s successor.

Estevao, a right winger, has yet to make his senior debut for his club or nation, although he has already received caps at several junior levels in Brazil. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and the Camp Nou club are reportedly interested as well, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Joining Vitor Roque and Endrick, who have already agreed to transfer to Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively, Willian has become a great talent at Palmeiras and is a member of Brazil’s rising generation. As the most recent Palmeiras player to draw interest from major European teams, Estevao has already earned the moniker “Messinho,” or “Little Messi.”

Estêvão Willian was born in Franca, Brazil, and joined the Cruzeiro academy as a young player in 2017. Because of the similarities in their playing styles, he first adopted the moniker Messinho as a tribute to Lionel Messi. At the age of ten, Estêvão earned a professional deal with Nike the next year, surpassing Rodrygo Goes as the youngest Brazilian player to do so.

On May 6, 2021, he signed a trainee deal and transferred to the Palmeiras junior academy. During the 2022 season, he assisted the Palmeiras young teams in winning the Copa do Brasil Sub-17, Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17, Campeonato Paulista Sub-17, and Campeonato Paulista Sub-15.

In October 2023, he helped his team win the championship for the second time in a row by scoring a hat-trick in the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17 final, which finished in a 3-0 victory against São Paulo. Willian won’t be able to sign with another league until he reaches 18 in April 2025, therefore the best teams in Europe will have to wait a long to sign him.
