The shocking announcement that Jurgen Klopp will retire from his position as manager of Liverpool at the end of the current campaign has the Anfield club looking for the German’s replacement. Over his nine years in leadership, Klopp has led Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League victories and turned the team into a constant title contender.

Its domestic victory in 2019–20 marked their first league title in 30 years. Although it will be difficult to replace Klopp, there are a few interesting prospects. The bookmakers have the former Liverpool midfielder as their favorite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. From 2004 to 2009, Xabi Alonso played for Liverpool and had a successful run there. Xabi scored in the Champions League final in 2005, when Liverpool overcame a 3-0 deficit to upset AC Milan, the dominant Italian team, on penalties to win the title.

During his tenure with the team, the Spaniard also won the FA Cup, Super Cup, and Community Shield. Currently managing Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, Alonso has led the team to an unprecedented start to the season. Read What Are Liverpool’s Next Manager’s Possibilities? Untill the end.

With 15 wins from their first 18 league games, Leverkusen is four points ahead of defending champion Bayern Munich. They have not lost in the league thus far. What a fascinating tale this would make! It may be a good opportunity for Steven Gerrard, the former captain of the team, to take on the managership of Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp has previously stated that he will do.

Because of his accomplishments at Anfield during his playing career and his role as the leader of every team he captained, Gerrard is already considered a Liverpool icon. There have been ups and downs in Gerrard’s management career thus far. Read What Are Liverpool’s Next Manager’s Possibilities? Untill the end.

In 2020–21, Gerrard guided Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership title in a decade with an undefeated season, but as the head coach of Aston Villa, he fell short of the high expectations placed on him. After being fired by Villa at the end of the previous season, the former England captain took his talents to Saudi Arabia and took leadership of Al-Ettifaq, where he has now signed a new deal.

Had Gerrard known he would be managing Liverpool, would he have been willing to sign that new contract? Even since taking over the Premier League team the previous season, Brighton’s boss has been a breath of fresh air. The squad has reached entirely new heights under Roberto De Zerbi, who was recruited when former manager Graham Potter joined Chelsea.

After assisting Brighton in finishing in sixth place the previous season, the Italian led the team into Europe for the first time in club history. It’s been entertaining to watch De Zerbi play football, and he’s helped nearly all of his teammates get better.

Roberto De Zerbi would be a great choice to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield because Brighton has already advanced to the UEFA Europa League knockout stages this season. After a difficult conclusion to his time at Bayern Munich, which resulted in his mid-season replacement by Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann is a man with a point to prove. After finding success at RB Leipzig and then leading Bayern to another league title in the 2021–2022 season, Nagelsmann was considered by many to be one of the most promising young managerial talents.

Nagelsmann’s contract only extends until the conclusion of the domestic European Championships in the summer, but he has assumed management of the German national team. Even though Nagelsmann has never managed outside of Germany, his background in developing young players and bringing out the best in a group at the club level may work to his advantage.
