Arsenal didn’t have a good run last weekend as they were defeated by Aston Villa in the Premier League 3-0.

If the loss and score line looks bad Arsenal fans might want to turn their heads as Thomas Partey sustained an injury in his thigh due to which he had to subbed off for Dani Cebalos at half time. Partey was seen with an ice pack tied around his thigh, while sitting on the bench.

Mikel Areta said “The doctor will have to have a look at him and probably scan him,” Arteta said. “Then we will decide what to do with him.”

The Arsenal boss added: “We don’t know [whether he will withdraw]. We have to scan him tomorrow or the day after and see what he felt straight away. Let’s wait and see what the magnitude of the injury is.”

The former Atletico man who was brought to London this summer for 45 million was a integral part of Gunner’s gaffer Mikel Arteta’s plan.

The injury was thought to be a strain but now looks quite serious as Partey has been sent for a scan by Arteta & medical staff to know the exact extent of his injury.
