The conquest of Europe by Real Madrid
Real Madrid C.F won the prestigious UCL four times in five consecutive years, a feat which has never been achieved in the history
The undisputed kings of Europe was the team of Real Madrid, after winning the UEFA Champions league once again in 2018. It took their count to 13 European titles for the reputed club. They had done it four times in five years; 2014, 2016,2017 and 2018. Keeping in mind the cut throat competition for this cup and the level of other top European clubs, it seems like an impossible task to win this trophy so often.
The Los Blancos could only achieve this feat with the elite squad they had over these years. A fierce frontline of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema leading the line. Every team across Europe was scared to face this team. Alley Sport
UCL 2014; Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid
It was Real Madrid’s 10 European title haul famously known as the La Decima. They were about to lose it, but in the 93rd minute a Sergio Ramos header came to the rescue. In the 90 minutes of play the game was drawn with a scoreline of 1-1. In the 30 minutes of extra time, the Los Blancos run riot. They scored thrice with goals from Bale, Marcelo and Ronaldo.
UCL 2016; RMA 1(5)-1(3) ATM
It was once again a Madrid derby in the UCL final and history was repeated. Sergio Ramos had an early goal into the game. Antoine Griezmann missed a penalty in the first half which he would regret for the rest of his life. Yannick Carrasco scored a late sitter to draw the game. Both teams failed to score in the extra time and the game was taken to penalties. Everyone from Real Madrid scored and Atleti’s Juanfran had his penalty denied by post, which won Real Madrid their 11th UCL titile.
UCL 2017; RMA 4-1 JUV
A win for Real Madrid would make them the first team in history to retain the UCL title. It looked an even game for both the teams played strong. Real opened their scoring with a Ronaldo goal. Soon after Mandzukic scored a sensational overhead goal to make the score level. The first half ended 1-1. The second half was a disaster for Juventus as they let Real score thrice and win the game 4-1. A Duo decima or 12th UCL title for Real Madrid.
UCL 2018; RMA 3-1 LIV
A lucky night for Real Madrid, hard to deny that. Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius made two howlers leading to goals. However, the highlight of the game was Gareth Bale coming off the bench to score one of the best goals ever scored in a final. He struck a flying bicycle kick from Marcelo’s cross leaving everyone on the planet astounded. Liverpool’s star man Mohommed Salah was forced off the pitch in the first half by a shoulder injury from a tackle by Sergio Ramos. The absence of Salah in the game was quite an unexpected turn for the Liverpool squad. Real Madrid won their third UCL title in 3 years.
