Southampton predicted lineup vs Leicester City: Match Preview
Southampton were the underdogs in their last league match against reigning Premier League champions Liverpool at the St Mary’s Stadium. The visitors were strong throughout the game, but former Liverpool man Danny Ings capitalized on a slow start to the game by his former team, lobbing the ball into the side netting past keeper Allison in the 2nd minute. The Saints parked the bus in front of their goal for the remainder of the game, denying even a sniff of a chance for Liverpool’s attackers. The victory was important for Southampton as it meant the Saints would stay 6th in the league table, within a chance of qualifying for European competitions next season if they continue their good form.
Their opponents Leicester City beat Stoke 4-0 on the road in the FA Cup, qualifying for the next round of the competition. Brendan Rodgers’ men are in good form this season and are 3rd in the league table, just a point below Liverpool and Manchester United at the top.
