Rohit isn’t 100% fit yet as per BCCI’s updates

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly made an update on Rohit Sharma’s fitness stating that Rohit is only 70% fit and not 100% fit yet. It means that Rohit Sharma played the final of IPL 2020 without regaining full fitness but went on to score 68 in the game. Rohit Sharma’s fitness has been a concern for the team for a while now and needs to be addressed soon.

Rohit picked up his hamstring injury in the middle of the tournament while playing against Kings XI and had to sit out for the next 4 games. He returned to the XI for the last league game and wasn’t fully fit yet as per BCCI updates. He wasn’t picked for the Australian tour at the beginning considering his fitness but soon he was added to the test team as Kohli was set to leave the tour after the first test at Adelaide.

The Indian team for all the formats travelled to Australia few days back and Rohit did not travel with the team but injured Saha was on the flight. Ganguly also explained about the presence of Indian physio Dr. Nitin Patel in Dubai for the entire IPL and monitoring of the injuries of the players intensely. KL Rahul has been named as the vice captain for the white ball squads while it will be interesting to see if Ajinkya Rahane or Rohit gets the captaincy from Virat for the second test as Virat will be taking paternity leave.
