Will Rohit Sharma play next match? Confusion surrounds social media
A lot of confusion is surrounding Rohit Sharma’s injury. He didn’t play the last two games for Mumbai Indians due to hamstring issues, and is still a doubt for the next day. Meanwhile, the Indian squad that will tour Australia was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and Rohit Sharma was dropped from all the three formats sighting fitness and injuries issues.
BCCI rules state that any player who is having an injury cannot be considered for selection immediately. The board said in a statement that both Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma will be monitored by the board which means that if they recover completely in time then they can travel to Australia and join the Indian contingent.
Right after the Indian team that will tour Australia was announced, Mumbai Indians’ social media handles posted pictures and videos of Rohit Sharma practicing in the nets. He also took part in the Super Sixes challenge recently. Mumbai Indians posting Rohit Sharma next match practicing pictures has given way to social media users as to whether he’ll take part in the next game or not.
Will Rohit Sharma play next match?
Twitter users are now seeking answers, and many predict that Rohit Sharma’s pictures of practicing might just be a warm-up and me may not be involved in their next match against Delhi Capitals.
As BCCI has made it clear that Rohit Sharma is still being accessed, it is tough to predict if he’ll play the next IPL match against Delhi Capitals.
He was recently involved in an Instagram bio controversy as well, where some Twitter users pointed out that he had removed the term ‘Indian Cricketer’ from his bio right after the squad selection process of Indian team had concluded. BCCI had stated that Rohit was injured and not fit as of now, but on the same day Mumbai Indians posted a picture of him practicing. It now in doubt if Rohit will play next match or not.
It indeed came in as a shocker when Rohit Sharma was not included in Team India’s squads for the tour of Australia. It was unusual because batsman Mayank Agarwal, who is facing a similar injury to that of Rohit Sharma’s, was named in the Indian squad.
Twitter users got confused if Rohit Sharma was injured or not, because BCCI and Mumbai Indians had posted contradicting evidences, which led to confusion all over social media. Will Rohit Sharma play next match?
We think that he still might not be ready to play the next game, and can be fit only in the Playoffs of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).
Rohit Sharma is the vice-captain for team India in the limited overs format and has always been a core part of the cricketing team. KL Rahul has been named as the vice-captain in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
Hope Rohit Sharma recovers soon and is able to make it to Australia as he has a splendid record against the Australian team. He may or may not play the next match.
