BREAKING: Rohit Sharma Australia Tour 2020 in jeopardy unless he is declared fit

Rohit Sharma Australia Tour 2020 in jeopardy unless declared fit
Many raised eyebrows when the Indian squads for the Australian tour were announced since a stalwart like Rohit Sharma was excluded from all the three formats of the game. Owing to the hamstring injury he picked up during the middle of the IPL tournament, he had to sit out 4 games for his franchise and rightly so, the selectors did not want to take risk.
Rohit Sharma Australia Tour 2020 in doubt?

Infact, the BCCI had stated that Rohit’s injury would be continuously monitored along with the likes of Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar kumar who were also excluded from the squads. Injuries had always been a concern for Rohit and his workload had been accordingly monitored for some years now. A half fit Rohit should never risk his career as hamstring injuries could go worse any time and players have ended their career in the past succumbing to those injuries.

Rohit Sharma Australia tour 2020
Rohit Sharma’s past Australian tour had always been great and he would have loved to be part of the tour down under. The last tour had yielded him so many runs and this would have been the perfect foil for him to return to international cricket after the Covid break for about 10 months. He is one of the main pillars of Indian cricket at present in all formats of the game.

His absence from the squad has let to KL Rahul being named Vice Captain in the limited overs squads and Ajinkya Rahane has stayed as the vice captain for the test squad. His replacements would have to make a bigger impact if given opportunity, to cement their places as openers.
According to ANI, Rohit Sharma won’t be travelling with Team India on the 11th of November and might not be part of Limited Over series, but he’s definitely playing the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020.
