3. Andres Iniesta (Barcelona)

Andres Iniesta is a legendary Barcelona player. The 37-year-old supported Albacete as a kid but when Barcelona, his second favourite team, beat his childhood club 7-1, he decided to support Real Madrid in revenge- something which he has himself referred to in the past.

Iniesta did so for a while as a child but his allegiances would have probably realigned when he moved from Albacete’s youth team to Barcelona’s academy in 1996. The rest, as they say, is history. But still, Madrid fans are not quick to forget that he once backed Los Galacticos when he was a child.

2. Neymar (PSG)

Neymar has openly admitted in an interview with Marca that he was a Real Madrid supporter as a kid. “My idol is Zidane, and I prefer Robinho over both!”, he said, when asked to choose between Barcelona legend Ronaldinho and Ricardo Kaka . As a child at Santos, he also mentioned that he was a Real Madrid fan.

Robinho and Zidane were famously Real Madrid players in and around that time. However, Neymar joined Barcelona when he had the chance to do so in 2014. But he quickly jumped ship in 2017 to PSG for a world-record fee.

1. Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

Kylian Mbappe is a superstar for PSG. He made his name at AS Monaco before making a massive £160million move to last season’s Ligue 1 runner-ups. But he has admitted that he was a Real Madrid fan growing up, and it’s no secret that Cristiano Ronaldo was his idol.

The superstar is now linked with Real Madrid during this summer window. It remains to be seen if he joins the club he grew up supporting or not. His contract expires in a year and Madrid have already seen a mammoth bid turned down for him. If not now, then he could definitely join the team next year as a free agent.

There are, of course, other players who supported Madrid and are playing for different teams, such as Aleix Vidal. But we have restricted our list to include the most eyebrow-raising names that have never played for Los Galacticos yet.
