1. Manchester city (Current champions)
Guardiola’s side just edged past Liverpool last season around and will now be looking for a premier league hat trick .
Strengths
City has arguably the best squad in the PL right now . They look secure in every department and Pep’s influence has been nothing short of miraculous on the side.
With many options for each and every spot in the lineup it is their squad depth that makes them lethal. They are the current champions of premier league.
Weakness
There are hardly any weaknesses in this dominant sides. Though fernandinho’s replacement was a bit of a concern for pep but that too has been addressed with the signing of Rodrigo from Atletico Madrid.
City looks a formidable side only concern is a suitable partner for CB Ayemeric Laporte with stones and otamnedi not matching the quality of his counterpart.
2 Liverpool ( Runners up)
The Reds looked in supreme touch last season as they missed by a whisker to grab their first ever Premier league trophy.
Strengths
Their strengths has been their front 3 from many seasons now. The magical trio of Mane Salah and firmino have been driving the club to new heights moreover the valuable contributions of Sturridge and Divock Origi can’t go unnoticed as well.
But it was their defence last season that made them great from good. Particularly Virgil van djik the man claimed responsible for the all new Liverpool. Not only Virgil but goalkeeper Alisson and their fullbacks Trent Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson have also been highly impressive making Liverpool’s defence one of the best right now.
Weaknesses
U hardly find a weakness in this Liverpool team but with their counterpart Man city strengthening their squad with the signings of Rodrigo and Cancelo, Liverpool didn’t show any intent this transfer window.
Also lack of creativity in their midfield might be a little cause of worry for the Reds. And the better squad depth of City is what separates the two.
3 Chelsea
The Blues finished 3rd last PL season and also won the Europa league. Therefore it would be fair to say that they were the best team after Liverpool and Man city last season.
Strengths
Chelsea were handed a huge blow as they had to face a transfer ban but that just might work in their favour as they’d be able to work with their exciting prospects which they used to loan out.
Players like Tammy Abraham, Kurt Zouma, Reece James and the wonderful addition of Pulisic from Dortmund may help them shut the mouths of the critics who accuse the club for destroying young careers.
Moreover the homecoming of Frank Lampard as the manager might just bring the best out of them.
Weaknesses
Losing your best player and a manager who was beginning to achieve success with the club in one window can hurt even the best of clubs. We have already seen that with Real madrid😂.
And with their potential Hazard replacement Callum Hudson Odoi and midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek injured for a long term the problem continues to mount for the blues. Thus it’ll be a huge challenge for lampard and his boys to prove the doubters wrong.
4. Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs were decent last season infact more than decent when you don’t even spend a penny and end up being the UCL finalists. Though the challenges would be different this time though Mauricio’s men look to fight again with passion.
Strengths
One of the biggest strengths of this team for years now has been their manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine has been bang on tactically and has impressed everyone of the way he has not only utilised his first team but also the academy products.
Whilst Kane, Son, Eriksen, Lucas moura and Lloris have been like a backbone to this team the chipping up of players like Lamela Alderweireld Vertonghen at the right times have helped the cause of the club.
And now after enjoying a brilliant transfer window with the brilliant signings of Lo celso, Ndombele, and Sessegnon the club suddenly looks like a threat to the like of Liverpool and Man city this time around.
Weaknesses
With almost perfect sync between the players and manager their doesn’t seem a major weakness in the squad but the squad depth of Spurs has always come into question whenever a key player like Kane or Son have faced injuries.
Also the club has been accused of faultering at pressure moments.
Thus it’s gonna be a challenge to remove their choking tag and silence the critics
5. Arsenal
Unai’s men finished 5th last season and were the runner ups of Uefa Europa league as well.
Therefore just missing out on the UCL spot from both the ways. But this time, in premier league they will have all guns blazing.
Strengths
The strength of this arsenal team has been their attacking side and now with the signing of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe,
The Gunners have a front 3 that can give competition to the front e of Liverpool .
But unlike Liverpool they have a defence opposite to their attack which embarrassed them many a times though the Gunners brought some life back into their defence by signing LB Kieran tiernay and Chelsea defender David Luiz on the deadline day.
Weaknesses
As mentioned their defence continued to be a cause of worry for them
but with the couple of signings they seem to have been given a lifeline for their chances of top 4 this PL season.
But the question arises is whether David Luiz will turn out to be good or not because he wasn’t any longer a first choice CB in his former club thus he had to make a move for a new club.
Thus if your rival club isn’t even considering him in the playing xi then will he turn out to be a quality you hoped for? Will be a question mark for the gunners.
6. Manchester United

Every Manchester United fan was shocked the way they recovered back from a horrible Mourinho spell last season. Though after few matches they again started to crumble and finished 6th and trophyless. This season there won’t be any higher hopes for the red devil’s as the club is going through a rebuild as stated by their manager and it’d be highly unlikely that they match the level of Man city and Liverpool
Strengths
The strength of this team was what their weakness was a season ago that is their defence. The PL proven signings of Aaron wan bissaka and Harry Maguire will give not only De gea more confidence but also the entire club and it’s fans confidence.
Also the right mentality of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of not rushing through the rebuild might just help them achieve more in future .
And with their academy products blending in well with the main team. They can only hope for more prosperity for a longer term.
Weaknesses
Lack of intent by the United board in the transfer window seems to be a problem now persistent from many seasons for United .
Though the board managed good defensive signings they failed terribly in bringing the replacements of Lukaku, Fellaini, and Herrera that might just expose their midfield and attack this season .
Thus they have to rely heavily on their youth this season which is not a bad thing but with the experience missing in their attack they may just fall apart this season but if come good then there’ll be no looking back for them.
