A stiff competition for the Champions League spot as Leicester and Chelsea drop points shuffling the PL table.
The Premier League has been seeing a cut throat competition for the Champions League spot. Chelsea lost 3-2 to West Ham United and Leicester City lost to Everton 2-1 last night. Further shuffling the Premier league standings and opening a chance for rivals Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Leicester currently sit on the third spot with 55 points, behind them Chelsea on 4th with 54 points and United and Wolves on 5th and 6th with 52 points each. Liverpool sit easy on the top with 86 points, having already won the Premier League. Manchester City are second with 63 points.
Arsenal and Tottenham sit on the 7th and 8th spot. The relegation battle is also quite tight. Norwich sit on the bottom of the table with 21 points. Bournemoth, Aston Villa, Watford and West Ham are tight at the bottom separated by a meagre one-two point difference.
After Wednesday’s win Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said
“We’re too far behind to be on the road to something special because special for this club is not where we are,” said Solskjaer.”But the team is improving, we’re in with a shout for the Champions League next year and we still have the FA Cup and Europa League to play.
“The team is improving, the players are coming back and the style is better.”
