Carabao Cup finalists Manchester City will host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League, and Alley Sport is here with Manchester City predicted lineup vs Brighton. Pep Guardiola’s men are in great form, and will hope to continue their steady rise up the Premier League table with a win over Graham Potter’s Brighton.
Manchester City vs Brighton, Match Preview
Pep Guardiola had to navigate through a crisis in his squad after few players tested positive for COVID-19 and had to miss City’s last few games. In spite of this, the blue half of Manchester prevailed against their rivals in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, reaching the competition finals for the fourth time in a row. Defender John Stones, who has had a renaissance in the last few months opened the scoring for City from a Kevin de Bruyne free-kick into the area. Captain Fernandinho’s screamer from outside the box added to United’s misery, giving them their fourth semi-final defeat in a row.
City are in a 12-match unbeaten run, their last defeat coming to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham, whom they will be facing the EFL Cup final. Before the game against Brighton at home, City will host Championship side Birmingham City in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
Ironically, Brighton’s last victory in a competitive fixture came on the same day as City’s last defeat. The two teams have had contrasting journeys after that day, with Brighton failing to win even a single game of football after their 2-1 win over Aston Villa. Graham Potter’s men are against the tide at City and will be hoping to take something away from this game.

Manchester City predicted lineup vs Brighton
Pep Guardiola has been playing without an out-and-out striker for a few games, with Sergio Aguero not fully match fit and Gabriel Jesus testing positive for the corona virus. Ferran Torres filled in that role, before getting injured. Since then, Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne or Riyad Mahrez have tried fulfilling that role in varied capacities. We expect this to continue, with the possibility of either Sterling or Mahrez drifting centrally as the match progresses. Ilkay Gundogan has been crucial for City against both Chelsea and United and he is expected to continue in City’s midfield. Here is our Manchester City predicted lineup vs Brighton and Hove Albion:
Formation: 4-3-3
