Tottenham vs Liverpool, Match Preview

Klopp will take his under-pressure team to North London to take on Jose Mourinho, against whom the German tactician has a good track record. Liverpool have not scored in the Premier League since their 1-1 draw at home against West Brom last month. They were most recently knocked out of the FA Cup in the 4th Round by arch-rivals Manchester United.

Liverpool broke the deadlock with Mohamed Salah, who chipped the ball over United’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson to give his side the lead. United found the equalizer through teenager Mason Greenwood, who became the youngest United player to score a goal against Liverpool after Wayne Rooney in 2005. Marcus Rashford, who assisted the first goal with a wonderful cross-field pass, finished off a quick counter-attacking move from the home side, giving United the lead after coming back from a goal down.

Salah equalized for Liverpool with his second goal of the game, before substitute Bruno Fernandes hit a brilliant free-kick that left Liverpool keeper Allison rooted to his spot, sending United to the next stages of the competition. The defeat adds to Liverpool’s recent woes and Jurgen Klopp will be expecting a win from his side’s trip to London.

Tottenham’s last game was a 1-4 win over Championship side Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup. Mourinho’s men bounced back to win the game after conceding the first goal.

Liverpool are struggling to score goals at the moment in the Premier League, and their makeshift defence might find it difficult against the in-form Tottenham duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. We expect the champions to go down 2-1 to Spurs at North London.
