Douglas Luiz rumours
Arsenal are allegedly interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa. According to ESPN, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still interested in signing a defensive midfielder despite missing out on a deal to sign Jorginho from Chelsea 18 months ago.
Since joining Villa from Manchester City in 2019, Luiz has been a staple in defensive midfield. With both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny away with their respective countries at the Africa Cup of Nations, the Gunners are now short on central midfielders.
Philippe Coutinho’s move from Barcelona possible
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly approved the pursuit of Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who has reportedly moved one step closer to joining Arsenal after Mikel Arteta gave the green light to pursue a transfer.
Xavi has not included Coutinho in his plans and is ready to give him to other clubs to receive significant amount in order to sign players that suit his tactics. Coutinho’s move is a possibility for Arsenal and depends on the decisions of the club and the player.
