Italy predicted lineup vs England & Preview

In the UEFA Nations League, Italy defeated England 1-0 in the San Siro last September after triumphing twice in a row with the Three Lions in November 2000 and March 2002. With just one goal scored in these contests—Andros Townsend’s goal in a 1-1 tie in March 2015—England has lost all six of its recent road matches versus Italy in all events (D2 L4).

In a friendly match in the Stadio Olimpico in May 1961, they recorded their last road victory, winning 3-2 thanks to goals from Jimmy Greaves and Gerry Hitchens (who scored twice). Italy and England are playing each other for the first time in a qualification match for the European Championships.

The last time they played was in the World Cup qualification for a major tournament in 1998; despite losing both of their matches versus Italy (D1 L1), England won the group and qualified without a play-off by finishing first in the group, one point ahead of Italy. Read till the end to find out Italy predicted lineup vs England.

The other European Championship qualifying match, which England lost 2-1 away to the Czech Republic in October 2019, was a win for England in 17 of their previous 18 games. They’ve netted 67 goals while only giving up seven in 17 victories. Since 5 September 2015, Italy has won 14 consecutive European Championship qualifying matches. After losing 3-1 on the road to France in September 2006, they have won 34 of their past 40 Euro qualifying matches (W34 D6).

After losing to Denmark in September 1999 at home in a qualifying match, they have gone 25 games without a loss (W21 D4). In his eight games for the national team, Vincenzo Grifo of Italy has personally contributed to seven goals, scoring four and providing three assists.

For the Italians, he scores a goal or provides an assist almost every 61 minutes. Gareth Southgate, the manager of the Three Lions, has won 49 of his 81 matches as captain of England (D18 L14). He stands to become just the third manager of the Three Lions to win 50 games, after Sir Alf Ramsey and Walter Winterbottom, who each won seven games.

With the Three Lions, Kane has faced Italy four times, but in none of those games has he scored, making Italy the only country he hasn’t done so against. Going into this game against England, Italy has a win probability of 50%, whereas England has a win probability of 30%.
