IPL 2019 Heroics: Featuring Kagiso Rabada

Today, Alley Sport features the South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, who changed the game completely for Delhi Capitals. He played a crucial role in Delhi Capitals’ journey to the playoffs. He, however, did not play the playoff match of Delhi Capitals v/s Chennai Super Kings. Delhi Capitals lost the match and got knocked out of the Indian Premier League. Rabada, however, ended as the 2nd highest wicket taker of the tournament. Such was the magnitude of his performance! Kagiso Rabada was on next level in IPL 2020.
Although Delhi Capitals could not do much, Kagiso Rabada’s performances were out of the world! Here are some of his best performances where he impacted the game:
Delhi Capitals v/s Royal Challengers Bangalore, Bengaluru
Kagiso Rabada took the wicket of AB De Villiers in his first over but the 2nd stand looked strong for RCB. However, Rabada bundled the RCB team when he came back in his 2nd spell. Rabada returned for his second spell and dismissed Virat Kohli, Akshdeep Nath & Pawan Negi. RCB got restricted to 149 for 8 in 20 overs. The target was easily chased by Delhi Capitals’ team. Many such instances came when Rabada changed games on his own.
2. Delhi Capitals v/s Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi
This match can be regarded as one of the best matches of Indian Premier League, 2019. This match had everything from explosive starts to nailbiting finishes. Kolkata Knight Riders while batting first scored 185/5 in 20 overs. Delhi looked comfortable in start. They got an explosive start and looked comfortable to win the game. All thanks to Prithvi Shaw, who score 99 runs off just 55 balls. However, Shaw got out at a crucial stage. Delhi Capitals equalised the score in 20 overs. What came next was a breath taking super over.
Rishabh Pant & Shreyas Iyer came out to bat but could manage only 10 runs off the only over. It looked a comfortable win for KKR but Rabada was in a different mood. Andre Russell & Dinesh Karthik came out to bat. Russell hit the first ball for a 4. Now, only 6 runs were needed off 5 balls. Russell got bowled on the third delivery in a marvelous bowl by Kagiso Rabada. Delhi Capitals went on to win the match.
3. Sunrisers Hyderabad v/s Delhi Capitals, Hyderabad
Delhi Capitals batting first posted a score of 155/7 in 20 overs. The score looked easily chaseable. David Warner and and Bairstow posted scores of 51 and 41 and looked to comfortably take Sunrisers Hyderabad off the rope. However, Warner was dismissed by Rabada and what came next was Rampage Rabada! Being at 72/1 to getting bundled for 116/10, everything happened in the match courtesy Kagiso Rabada. Also, He dismissed Vijay Shanker, Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Khaleel Ahmed too. We look forward to Kagiso Rabada having the same performances in IPL 2020.
