Everton vs Rotherham, Match preview

Both teams suffered defeat in the latest round of fixtures in their respective leagues. Ancelotti would want a strong response from his team, following a disappointing defeat against West Ham United at home in the Premier League. Everton dominated the ball for large parts but failed to turn their possession into goals and saw Tomas Soucek tap in the winner for West Ham following a deflection off an Aaron Cresswell long shot.

Rotherham United lost 1-2 in their last Championship game against Barnsley at home. Michael Smith’s goal would only prove to be a consolation for the hosts and the defeat has left them 23rd in the Championship table, with 16 points from 20 matches this season.

Everton predicted lineup vs Rotherham: Latest Team News

Everton will be without former Arsenal man Alex Iwobi, who is an injury doubt. Midfielder Fabian Delph is also ruled out with a hamstring injury. Ivorian midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury. French left-back Lucas Digne is also on the sidelines with a ligament injury. The Frenchman has been an integral part of the Toffees ever since he joined and set up 4 goals in 8 league matches this season before the injury. Summer signing Allan is also out with a hamstring injury.

Rotherham United will have a huge list of injury absentees, with as many as 8 first-team players on the sidelines. It will be an uphill challenge for Paul Warne to deal with the Toffees with an underfiring squad.
