Leeds United vs Everton, Match Preview

Everton are sitting pretty at 7th place in the Premier League table, and will expect to finish higher at the end of the season. Ancelotti has transformed the Toffees and have made them a solid side that challenges for the European spots. Their most recent game was a 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the Goodison Park last week.

New signing James Rodriguez opened the scoring by putting his side ahead with a right-footed shot into the corner after latching on to the rebound from Wesley Fofana’s block. Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel couldn’t do much about the shot from Rodriguez, who added his 4th Premier League goal of the season.

In the second half however, Leicester showed better attitude and were rewarded for their efforts as Youri Tielemans scored off a lay-off from winger Harvey Barnes. Ancelotti would have expected better from his keeper Jordan Pickford, who was able to put a hand to the shot, but failed to stop it form going into the back of the net. The game stayed the way after this, and both teams shared a point each from this fixture.

Leeds United, who have been praised for the exciting type of football, are at 12th place in the league and most recently defeated Newcastle 1-2 at St. James’ Park, following goals from Raphinha and Harrison on either side of an equalizer from Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron.
