Chelsea transfer news roundup; Blues expect up to 4 key departures and will spend big 1

Chelsea have been in great form this season. The Blues will look to add more to their squad as they are being tipped to challenge for the title. Alley Sport brings you the latest Chelsea transfer news roundup.

Chelsea transfer news roundup: Key departures expected

Today’s Chelsea transfer news roundup features Ex-Chelsea and now Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte, who is reportedly looking at 4 Chelsea players. The Inter Milan boss signed Hakimi and Kolarov this summer but is rumored to be interested in Chelsea left-backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

On top of it, Conte is reportedly in market for French striker Olivier Giroud. Giroud is finding next to no game-time at Chelsea as Frank Lampard’s new signing Timo Werner has become the regular start, and Tammy Abraham is second in line.

The biggest story developing recently is that of Inter Milan’s re-emerging interest in N’golo Kante. Conte signed all 4 players in his stint as Chelsea managers and won the FA Cup and the Premier League with them. The Chelsea midfielder is reportedly “open for talks” with the Serie A club.

Chelsea transfer news roundup: Rudiger to Spurs? As Abramovich wants to spend more

Former Spurs striker Darren Bent was baffled when talks of Antonio Rudiger being sent on loan to Spurs appeared earlier this week. Bent wondered why Rudiger was being left out so often despite being a solid centre-back, and questioned if the decision to let go a quality player like Rudiger to rivals Spurs makes any sense.

“I like him, I think he’s a good defender, but clearly something’s gone on down there for that to happen. The last thing I would want to if I was Frank Lampard, it’s all well and good not liking him or trusting him, that’s each to their own, but you don’t want to see him go to your rivals in Spurs and help them. Why would you want to make your rivals stronger? I’ve never understood that.”

Rudiger has only appeared in one match this season, that too in the Champions League. The German centre-back ended last season starting in 19 of Chelsea’s last 22 games. Thiago Silva has apparently edged Rudiger out of the first team picture for the time being, and the German may look elsewhere for starts.

Chelsea vs Sheffield United Premier League Gameweek 8, 5 players on the scoresheet as Chelsea climb to third

In other news, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that despite spending north of 200 million pounds in the summer, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is looking to spend next year to add to the Chelsea squad. The Blues’ recent signings Timo Werner, Thiago Silva, and Ben Chilwell all scored in their win against Sheffield United yesterday. Hakim Ziyech, another one of the new faces at Stamford Bridge, impressed again with two assists.

It is difficult to think where Chelsea would need to add to their already buffed up squad, but if there was a position to be strengthened, it would be their defence. Today’s Chelsea transfer news roundup was all about the targets Chelsea are targeting in the upcoming transfer window.
