Chelsea will travel to the Craven Cottage this Saturday to take on Fulham in the Premier League, and Alley Sport brings you Chelsea predicted lineup vs Fulham. Frank Lampard guided his side to the next round of the FA Cup last week, beating minnows Morecambe. However, the Blues’ league form has been nothing short of disappointing and it may not be too long before the Stamford Bridge outfit’s supporters lose their faith in Lampard.
Fulham vs Chelsea, Match Preview
After losing to Arsenal, Manchester City and drawing with Villa in the league, Chelsea showed positive signs in their 4-0 win against Morecambe in the FA Cup 3rd Round, last week. The Blues, who were finalists of the competition in 2019/20, broke the deadlock after 18 minutes, with Mason Mount drilling the ball into the bottom left-corner from 25 yards out. Just before half-time, German play-maker Kai Havertz selflessly headed the ball across goal for compatriot Timo Werner, who scored the simplest of tap-ins to double Chelsea’s lead. Another new signing, Hakim Ziyech, dinked a pass into the area in the 49th minute, and winger Callum Hudson-Odoi converted inside the box to make it three.
Kai Havertz later wrapped up proceedings, by heading home from a Cesar Azpilicueta cross to hand the Blues a 4-0 win over minnows Morecambe. Goals from Werner and Havertz comes as a sigh of relief for both the players, who have struggled to settle in and make an impact since joining the Blues from the Bundesliga last summer.
Chelsea will hope to build on the back of this result and turn around their league form. Lampard is already under fire as Chelsea were expected to be one of the clubs challenging for the title towards the end of the season, having spent in excess of 200 million pounds in the summer.
