Can England win World Cup 2022 in Qatar? Assessing the Three Lions’ chances
England have been the pioneers of football. They are basically credited with bringing football into the mainstream world, if not inventing the sport altogether. But somewhere, some things have gone awry for them to only have had 1 major international trophy to their name.
With the FIFA World Cup 2022 coming up, it offers them a chance to finally break that 55-year-long duck and get their hands on the Jules Rimet trophy. And here, we answer the question “Can England win World Cup 2022 in Qatar?”
A good UEFA Euro campaign, but can England win World Cup 2022 in Qatar?
England were pretty good in the UEFA Euros. They might have had an easy group to get out of but they showed their mettle by beating powerhouses such as Germany and Denmark on their way to the final at Wembley. It was not to be, however.

Roberto Mancini’s Italians were determined to bring home their first international trophy since 2006 and they did just that. Luke Shaw’s premature opener for the Three Lions was cancelled out by Leonardo Bonucci’s second-half equallizer. From there, the penalty shoot-outs commenced after a dull period of extra time.
England players completely fluffed their lines while Gianluigi Donnarumma maintained his cool. But can the Three Lions translate this form to the showpiece occasion in Middle East next year? In our opinion, no, they cannot.
Can England win World Cup 2022 in Qatar? The stakes are high
The World Cup will see some more potent teams added to the mix. Not to mention, it takes place in weather conditions that no English player would be used to. The South American and African countries would take liking to the warmer climate in Qatar. Moreover, there is always the question of how England would do against actually good non-European teams.

With the likes of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Colombia added to the mix, things will get all the more difficult for the Three Lions. No one needs a reminder of what Luis Suarez did to them during the 2014 World Cup.
Moreover, there is no real superstar coming through England’s ranks that can significantly improve them next summer. What we saw at the Euros is largely the stuff we will see next summer as well. And whether that is still good enough to put them in another international final remains to be seen.
