The Spain forward has signed a five-year contract with Barca until 2027, including a €1 billion buyout clause. Barca paid £46.3 million (€55 million) for the forward, plus an additional £8.4 million (€10 million) in add-ons. Some £5.9 million (€7 million) of the add-ons are thought to be almost certain.

Torres leaves the Etihad Stadium with 16 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions for City. Last season, he also assisted Pep Guardiola’s club in winning the Premier League and the Carabao Cup. He’s been out since October due to a foot injury he sustained while on international duty with Spain. He has scored one goal for Barcelona since he joined.

Coutinho wanted to return to England and play regular football again, and he saw Villa as a forward-thinking team with big plans for the future. After spending two and a half years with Liverpool manager Steven Gerrard, the Brazil midfielder is thought to already know a lot about Villa and their squad.

Coutinho, a Barcelona midfielder, has signed a loan deal with Villa until the end of the season. The deal that brought him to Villa Park also included a £33 million option to make it permanent in the summer.

“[Steven Gerrard] told me about the club, the ambitions of the club and his plans also.

“When I spoke to him after the meeting it was clear that I wanted to be here. I think it [happened] quickly and I am very happy to be here.” Coutinho said.

Anthony Martial has joined Sevilla on a season-long loan from Manchester United. The 26-year-old will join the La Liga club until the end of the season, with his wages paid in full. Despite interest from Juventus and Barcelona, the forward has always wanted to join Sevilla this month because he believes it is where he will play the most.
