Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool Preview and Livestream

Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are drawn in what is easily the group of death in the Champions League season with two-time European Cup winners Porto and 7-time UEFA Champions League winners AC Milan also with them. Luckily for the Reds, they have won both their group fixtures- against AC Milan and FC Porto, and sit comfortably at the top of Group B. They will surely be targeting the top spot now.

As for Los Colchoneros, they are second in the group with 4 points and overtake Liverpool with a win in Madrid this week and are already on the back of a big win against Barcelona in La Liga. The current La Liga champions have a memorable UCL two-legged tie in their recent history against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds where they dumped them out of the 2019/20 UCL season. They would want to recreate those memories once again but luckily for Liverpool, Alisson Becker will play this game.

Atletico Madrid Predicted Lineup vs Liverpool and Team News

Like Liverpool, Atletico Madrid also have a few injuries to worry about. Simeone’s men would be without Stefan Savic and probably Jose Maria Gimenez for this game. The two defenders could be a big absence in their defence, while Liverpool’s arch-nemesis from 2020, Marcos Llorente, could also be sidelined along with Matheus Cunha. Apart from that, the Spaniards have a pretty fit team to choose from.

Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool Prediction

Liverpool are very strong on paper but Atletico are at home and Diego Simeone’s anti-football is no secret for anyone anymore. We expect a cagey affair here and are siding with a 0-0 draw for Jurgen Klopp’s men against Simeone’s. One would be right to feel that perhaps Liverpool would be happier with it than the hosts given their history in UCL away games and vs Atletico.
