After signing Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes in the summer, the Gunners are looking to tighten up their midfield in January. Arsenal are looking to sign Houssem Aouar, who according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, is still interested in coming to the Premier League.

The Olympique Lyonnaise midfielder has started this season in the form that he showed last year, getting 3 goals and assists already in the league for Lyon. Arteta would be looking for a creative partner in midfield for Thomas Partey, and has the nod from Arsenal legend Ian Wright who believes the Spanish should pursue Aouar again in January after being linked the Frenchman all summer.

Arsenal will be looking to bring in the Hungarian in the winter transfer window.

Arsenal’s transfer news suggests that potentially in for Hungarian attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. The RB Salzburg midfielder has impressed fans in the Austrian league at the age of just 20, and is valued at 26 million pounds. The London club would be facing competition for Szoboszlai from Salzburg’s sister club RB Leipzig in Germany, but Arteta would get his man if he was to meet Salzburg’s asking price.

Arsenal have not scored from open play in over 4 hours in the Premier League, and star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored just twice this season, with both goals being penalties. Arteta would be looking at bringing in creative midfielders as his preferred midfield trio of Thomas Partey, Mo Elneny, and Dani Ceballos has offered very little going forward this season.
