Arsenal travel to Norway hoping to turn around a string of disappointing performances in the Premier league. Alley Sport is here with the Arsenal predicted lineup vs Molde.
Mikel Arteta will be looking to advance further in the Europa League as he hopes to return to the Champions league. Arsenal have had dismal performances as they lost to Aston Villa 3-0 before the international break and drew against Leeds in an unimpressive performance this weekend.
Nicolas Pepe saw a red and Leeds dominated the game with 67% possession and had 25 shots compared to Arsenal’s 6 shots, it was sheer bad luck for Leeds who had to settle for a point when they deserved the win.
Arsenal vs Molde Preview
Norwegian sides have lost their last four home meetings with English sides in all European competition by an aggregate score of 0-11, with Molde v Arsenal the first such game since Tromsø IL’s 0-2 defeat against Tottennam Hotspur in the Europa League in November 2013.
Molde had won three UEFA Europa League matches in a row before Arsenal beat them 4-1 in the reverse fixture earlier this month — they haven’t lost consecutive matches in the competition since a run of three games in October/November 2012.
Arsenal have only been defeated once in their last 14 away games in the group stages of a major European competition (W 10 D3), against FC Köln in November 2017 in the only game they’ve failed to score in during this run.
Arsenal nave scored at least once in each of their last 19 matches in major European competition (43 goals in total); they’ve only had a longer run once — 21 games between October 2003 and November 2005.
No Arsenal player has scored more goals (2), made more assists (2), taken more snots (11) or created more chances (8) than Nicolas Pépé in the UEFA Europa League this season.
Arsenal predicted lineup vs Molde and Team News
Bukayo Saka was subbed off after he picked a knock in the Leeds game and the extent of the injury is being assessed.
The England international came off the bench to appear in the second half but was forced off in injury time clutching his knee.
And the Gunners boss seemed pessimistic when discussing Saka’s problem. “We’ll have to assess how bad it is but it looks a pretty bad challenge and he was in pain,” Arteta said.
Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac are still out in self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.
An update from Arsenal medical department on November 20 said that Thomas Partey is still recovering after injury in Left thigh, Partey was not included in the game against Leeds. The impact of Thomas Partey since joining from Atletico Madrid has been huge and Arteta will be looking to get him back in the playing 11 as soon as possible.
